In honor of Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Month, Oral & Facial Surgery Associates will offer free oral cancer screenings April 15 from 1 to 3 pm at the Lawrenceville office, located at 745 Old Norcross Road. To participate, interested individuals need to arrive at the designated clinic at the specified time and date, and tell the staff they would like a free cancer screening.

“The good news is that oral cancer has an 80-90% survival rate, when found in the early stages,” said Sandeep Pathak, DMD, MD, FACS, of Oral & Facial Surgery Associates. “However, many cases aren’t diagnosed until they’re advanced. An earlier diagnosis can make a significant difference in terms of treatment options and outcomes, which is why we recommend annual screenings by a qualified health care professional and monthly self-exams, which you can do using a bright light and mirror.”
